Dianna Agron — The Glee Star
The famous Glee star Dianna Agron is an American singer, actress, director, and dancer who made her screen debut in 2006. She has many nominations and awards to her name for her fabulous performances in various films.
Born on April 30, 1986, in Savannah, Georgia to a Russian Jewish family, Dianna Elise Agron was raised in San Antonio, San Francisco, Texas, and California. She was born to Ronald S. Agron and Mary née Barnes and has a brother Jason Agron who is a photographer. It was because of her father’s career as a general manager of Hyatt hotels that Agron and her family had to relocate but her mother ensured that the children were brought up well-behaved. Agron opted for dancing when she was 3 years old and studied ballet, hip-hop, and jazz. She attended Jewish day school and Hebrew school until 3rd grade and when the family shifted to California, Agron attended Lincoln School, Burlingame Intermediate, and Burlingame High School. At high school, she was involved in a theatre where she played different characters and helped with set designs, painting, and costumes. She became captivated by fashion while working at a boutique and also worked as a choreography and dance teacher. Moreover, she had developed a keen interest in photography, at high school, and took piano lessons. In 2005, Agron moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as an actor.
Dianna Agron appeared in several TV series from 2006 to 2008 including Shark, Drake & Josh, and Close to Home. She also had a recurrent role in It’s a Mall World which was a series of 13 short films and in Heroes as the captain of the cheerleading squad. She opted for comedies, in her early career, and turned down horror film roles. Dianna made her film debut in an action-thriller film T.K.O. Her breakthrough role was in the musical comedy series Glee as a high school cheerleader, Quinn Fabray, in 2009. At the end of the second episode of the first season, she also made her musical debut and sang “I Say a Little Prayer.” While on a break from Glee, Dianna wrote, directed, produced, and starred in A Fuchsia Elephant, a short comedy film. From 2010 to 2011, she took on more roles and had her first video directing job. Two of those major roles were as Alice in a horror-thriller film The Hunters and as Sarah Hart in I am Number Four. From 2012 to 2013, Agron reduced her role in Glee and opted for film roles such as in The Family and Bare.
She also appeared in various music videos and made her debut theatre role in McQueen. Agron is known to have sung the U.S national anthem at the U.S ambassador’s residence in 2015. Agron moved to New York in 2016 and has been living there since. She continued playing different characters in films and drama series while making her singing debut in 2017 at the Café Carlyle. She’s known to have a low register voice. As of 2020, Agron took an ironically non-Jewish role in a Jewish movie Shiva Baby and her various magazines described her performance as ‘perfect’ and ‘flawless.’
Dianna Agron has been nominated and achieved several awards, especially for her role in Glee, such as American Music Awards, Gold Derby TV Awards, Giffoni Film Festival, and many others. Apart from showbiz, Agron actively supports charities and advocacy groups. She raised funds through hosting award shows such as GLAAD Media Awards to support refugees especially children and is also known to have supported military personnel. To support activism, Agron started a platform, initially using her Tumblr account, named You, Me, and Charlie where she wrote and collected posts on various topics including art, music, and daily inspirations.
Weighing 58 kg (128lb), the 5 ft 5 inches tall Dianna Agron revealed that her diet is full of vegetables and plenty of water. She’s known to have been in several note-worthy relationships which include popular celebrities such as Alex Pettyfer, Sebastian Stan, Dave Franco, Chris Evans, Christian Cooke, Nicholas Hoult, and a few more from 2008 to 2015.
In 2015, Agron started dating Winston Marshall, Mumford & Sons guitarist, and got engaged by the end of the year. The following year, the couple got married but kept their relationship private. The marriage, however, couldn’t work for long and the couple officially separated in 2020. With an estimated net worth of $4 million, Dianna Agron is currently single and has no children.
